Our Mission
Parents for Safe AI exists to give parents a voice in how artificial intelligence is developed, deployed, and regulated — particularly when it affects children and young people.
We believe that AI has enormous potential to improve lives, but only if it's developed with appropriate safeguards. The current pace of AI development, driven primarily by commercial interests, is outstripping our ability to understand and manage the risks to children.
Our Story
Parents for Safe AI was founded by parents who saw the gap between the rapid advancement of AI technology and the lack of protections for children. We watched as AI-powered social media algorithms, chatbots, and content generation tools became increasingly sophisticated — and increasingly accessible to children — without adequate safeguards.
We decided to act: to educate other parents, to advocate for better regulation, and to push AI companies to prioritise children's safety alongside innovation.
